Did you know? In many areas there are counties, cities, utilities and organizations that will give you rebates towards a new electric mower when you trade-in your gas guzzling old mower?

Why: Electric mulching mowers provide many benefits to your lawn as well as the environment. By switching to an electric mower, you will reduce gas consumption, eliminate hazardous emissions and conserve natural resources. For every 1,000 gas-powered lawn mowers replace by electric mower, metro areas can reduce as much as 9.8 tons of volatile organic compounds, the precursor to smog.

There are several programs across the country that will pay you money (rebates) to turn in your old gas equipment toward the purchase of new electric outdoor power equipment. These programs are sponsored by government funded organizations that are focused on improving the environment in their respective community. These organizations are dedicated to encouraging you to create “greener” yards by eliminating gas powered tools, mulching your grass instead of using harmful pesticides and implementing practices that reduce your water consumption. These practices will still have your lawn looking lovely, but not at the expense of the environment. Many of these organizations will even recycle your old lawn equipment and as stated before, pay you to do so!
